Now that the Philadelphia 76ers have entered their off-season, rumors about what the Sixers can do this off-season are a popular topic.

Lebron James is a free agent at season’s end (as every Sixers fans knows) and the team will try to lure him to Philly. He is the obvious choice to help improve the roster.

But why stop there?

Trading in the assets

The Sixers have plenty of good young players and have the 10th pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.

Perhaps that combination could land them one of the premier players in the game.

San Antonio Spurs star small forward Kawhi Leonard will be a free agent at the end of next season. Could he be available for trade this off-season?

Leonard played only nine games this season because of an injured right quad.

Throughout the year, multiple reports have said the Spurs and Leonard have disagreed about the severity of the injury and how to approach his rehab. Time will tell if the relationship can be saved.

If not, the Sixers could go all in to pry him away from San Antonio.

They could offer the 10th pick and some of their young talent (Dario Saric, Markelle Fultz, Robert Covington). They should see if the Spurs would be interested.

It’s highly unlikely at this point. A starting lineup with Leonard, James, Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid would rival the Golden State Warriors.

Injured Roco

The Sixers announced Robert Covington had successful surgery on his left middle finger.

He will be reevaluated in two to three weeks. It’s good to get these small lingering things out of the way now than later.
