The Denver Broncos visit the Washington Redskins tonight for their third preseason game. The starters will get more time on the field and may play into the second half. This extended playing time should get starters a feel of how well their chemistry in the offense has evolved over the preseason.

Case Keenum leads the Broncos offense and has struggled somewhat coming into this game. He did improve last week against the Chicago Bears but has yet to throw a touchdown pass during preseason action. This could potentially be something the team should worry about heading into meaningful football if he doesn’t deliver this week.

Denver has had a steady and consistent rushing attack, going for over 100 yards in each game. Running backs Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman have shown some good ability and continue to push for more reps. However, it may be Devontae Booker’s job to lose as the starter because of his experience with the offensive scheme plus his playmaking skills.

Defensively, Denver has had its moments, but they are still working things out in the secondary. Fortunately, there are only a few players on the injury report and they’re listed as questionable. Su’a Cravens is one of these players and has had a limited time on the field since coming over from Washington. If healthy, he could possibly be a huge piece missing in the defensive puzzle.

Finally, The Broncos will get to face an old foe in Washington in quarterback Alex Smith. Smith was traded in the offseason from Kansas City when it became clear to the Redskins that Kirk Cousins was not staying. The last time that Smith played Denver he wasn’t too sharp, going 14 of 31 for 202 yards and a touchdown.

I’m a Denver, Colorado native that loves almost all sports. I have a beautiful daughter that means the world to me and she also loves to watch sports. Sometimes I can be very opinionated when debating or discussing sports, but if you love a team you will definitely debate it out to the fullest. I like to be adventurous and experience the outdoors, play sports with friends, golf when I have the time and experience new foods and activities. I also want to visit other ballparks and stadiums to support Colorado teams and experience the culture at those venues. So feel free to debate or discuss sports with me anytime even if we don’t agree.
