Today will be a big day for the future of the Vols defense. Everyone knows games are won and lost in the trenches, and Tennessee is looking to build up the defensive line. Alabama’s Reginald Perry will be the first step in that process. Perry brings great size to this unit at 6-7, and close to 300lbs.

For a guy of that size, Perry moves surprisingly well. He also plays basketball for Fairfield High, and shows good quickness and bounce.

Perry reminds me a lot of a more athletic Darrel Middleton. His size is very comparable to the current Vol defensive tackle, and their are several similarities in their play. Perry looks good against the run, and is quick enough to make a couple athletic stops in the backfield. Hopefully, he’ll gain a couple more defensive line buddies later in the day at UT.
