The Iowa State Cyclones were busy over the past week with offers including that of Round Rock High School tight end/defensive end Garrett Miller and Hightower High School cornerback/wide receiver Isaiah Essissima.
Miller also visited Baylor in April and has received offers from Colorado, Purdue and other schools. For Essissima, he received four offers in one day including Iowa State, Vanderbilt, Nebraska and Texas State. His fourth offer, from Vanderbilt, happened while being interviewed by Armchair.
“Wow Vanderbilt just offered me,” Essissima said. “I’m just very humbled and blessed I cannot stress that enough.”

The offer from Iowa State was the first of the day for Essissima on Thursday, May 10. The Big 12 Conference is also among his personal favorites alongside the Pac 12 and Big Ten, Essisma told Armchair.
Nebraska also offered Essissima during the interview and after Vanderbilt, Essissima received a total of seven offers so far.
“It feels good I’m very humbled and blessed,” Essissima said, “but I also know that I have to keep working and never get comfortable in my spot.”

For Miller, he received an offer from Iowa State on Tuesday, May 8.
Miller said his first response to receiving the offer was being fired up.
“I couldn’t believe it,” Miller told Armchair. “I watch college football on TV all the time and when I was a kid I knew I wanted to be one of those guys and it came true that I could be on TV playing with the big dogs.”
Miller also took a visit to Waco, Texas, and Baylor. According to 247 Sports, Miller recorded 27 receptions, 424 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.
As recruiting for the 2019 class continues, Iowa State ranks No. 30 in 247 Sports’ team rankings while Baylor is No. 28. In terms of the Big 12, Baylor is No. 4 and Iowa State is No. 5. The Cyclones currently have seven 3-star commits, and with Miller, that would make eight. If Essissima also commits to Iowa State, that would put the Cyclones easily ahead of the Bears as both teams are neck in neck in the rankings.
However, neither team comes close to that of Oklahoma and TCU who currently hold the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. The Sooners have one 5-star commit, seven 4-star commits and three 3-star commits. The Horned Frogs have one 4-star commit and nine 3-star commits, according to 247 Sports.
