Back-to-back ACC Champions

The Florida State baseball team went through a rough stretch of games in Durham to call themselves the two time defending ACC Champions! They had to defeat a Virginia team that was fighting for a spot in the NCAA Regionals in extra innings. Then defeat a North Carolina State team that was considered a top five team, and on the bubble of a national seed. In the ACC Semifinals the Noles defeated Clemson will for sure be a top eight national seed. Today saw the Seminoles defeating a hungry Louisville team in extra innings.

What’s Next?

Coming into the weekend there was heavy talk about Florida State earning a top eight national seed. After an ACC Championship you would almost have to guarantee that it was earned. Before the Louisville game, FSU had a RPI of 6, and that is part of a glorious resume.

Currently North Carolina, Florida, Ole Miss, Stanford, Clemson and Oregon State are all guarantee national seed. With the resume Florida State has, and the crowning of conference champions they should be hosting a regional with potential to host a super regional.
