Auburn landed its centerpiece of the 2019 recruiting class this week in a big way. Five-star linebacker Owen Pappoe is a highly touted recruit with offers from top schools all over the nation. From Grayson High School in Georgia, Pappoe was expected to commit to Georgia several times throughout the 2017-18 season. After visiting Auburn, which was not in his initial top 3 list, the Tigers quickly moved up to the top of his list. Pappoe committing to Auburn added a sixth recruit to the quickly forming Tigers class.

Tigers Land a Stud

The Tigers will be losing several linebackers after next season, and the addition of Pappoe will bolster the inside of the defense for years to come. He should be able to make an immediate impact on the Tigers defense as an inside linebacker who is one of the most athletic recruits in the country. He is quick on the field and is able to move laterally and vertically with great speed, as shown in his 4.47 40 time in Opening camp.

The Tigers will look to continue to add more highly skilled defenders to the 2019 class to better the team for the future. Auburn started slowly on the recruiting trail for this class, but in the past few weeks there have been several players committing to the Tigers, boosting the recruiting ranking that the Tigers hold.
