Houston

The defending American League Champion Cleveland Indians came to Space City to take on the red-hot Houston Astros. At the finale of the series, the Indians showed why they were almost World Series Champions. The Astros, however, are now in a three game slump.

The bats for the Indians were alive and well in this series. The Indians hit home runs in each game of the series and never looked back. Here’s a look at the top batters for the Indians in the series:

Day of Game Player Hits At Bats Runs
Friday Jason Kipnis 2 5 1
Jose Ramirez 2 4 1
Saturday Michael Brantley 2 4 1
Lonnie Chisenhall 2 4 2
Sunday Edwin Encarnacion 2 4 3
Yan Gomes 2 3 2

On the other side of the field, the Astros bats were not awake, or even around for that matter:

Day of Game Player Hits At Bats Runs
Friday Carlos Correa 1 3 1
Josh Reddick 1 3 1
Saturday Evan Gattis 1 3 0
Jose Altuve 1 4 0
Sunday Carlos Beltran 1 2 2
Marwin Gonzalez 2 4 1

The most action the Astros bats made was in the bottom of the 9th in the series finale. Marwin Gonzalez and Alex Bregman both hit back-to-back homers to bring the score to 8-6.

More news from the Astros was the sending of Dallas Keuchel and Brian McCann to the DL list. Keuchel has a pinched nerve in his neck and will only miss one start. McCann is on the list for concussion protocol. Both are looking at between 7-10 days on the list and can be reinstated soon.

This is the last time these teams will play each other and the Astros are looking to get back on track with the Detroit Tigers coming to town.
