Position Rank: DE #1

Conference Rank: SEC #2

Team Rank: Texas A&M #1

Myles Garrett entered Texas A&M with the loftiest of expectations and has done nothing but prove himself on the field for the Aggies. In his first two seasons, Garrett has piled up 24 sacks, including a conference leading 12.5 last year. Garrett is feared for his pass rushing abilities, but his 19.5 tackles for loss and 5 forced fumbles in addition to his sack numbers show that Garrett is much more than a pass rush specialist. He was named a first team All-American in 2015 and is virtually unblockable coming off the edge, even against the SEC’s stingy offensive lines. As our highest ranked defensive player, Garrett will lead Texas A&M’s push to return to the upper echelon of college football following an up and down 8-5 season in 2015.

As the offseason winds down, Parker Say will be counting you down to the 2016 college football season by unveiling the top 100 players of 2016, one day at a time. To see previous posts in the countdown, click here.
