Jalen Hurd flies under the radar at times, but the Tennessee standout is one of the top running backs in the SEC and is a big reason for the turnaround the Vols have experienced under Butch Jones. Although not a traditional ground and pound SEC offense, Tennessee’s dynamic attack maximizes the skills of both Hurd and quarterback Josh Dobbs to form one of the nation’s most feared units. Hurd, along with backup Alvin Kamara, is a part of the Volunteer’s two headed monster in the backfield that can compete with any in the nation. If Tennessee is going to live up to the preseason hype and compete for an SEC title in 2016, Hurd will have to step up and be the anchor that keeps the chains moving for the Vols on offense.
