Valentine’s Day is this week. Ready or not, love is in the air, ladies and gentlemen.

If there’s one thing that fans of mixed martial arts love, it’s a championship fight. That is what the Alaska Fighting Championship will offer this Wednesday night on UFC Fight Pass in AFC 145, live from Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage.

Who needs a heart-shaped box of chocolates? Who needs that when you’ve got fights.

(Well, unless you want a snack to munch on as you watch…)

AFC 145 kicks off a packed week of MMA action late night this Wednesday at midnight EST (early Thursday)/ 9 PST on Fight Pass.

All told, between Fight Pass, the UFC and Bellator MMA, there are eight MMA events over the next week to watch and/or stream, so get ready, everybody.

Mark them down on your calendar right now. Don’t delay, either.

The card is headlined by a Welterweight championship contest matching 8-5 Tyler Milner with 6-1 Charlie Johnson. This is a five-round fight.

Contender Comparison: Milner is the taller fighter in this title contest by one inch, standing at 6-foot, with Johnson standing 5-foot-11.

Milner has posted a 2-3 record in his last five MMA appearances, having lost his last two fights, including last time to David Michaud, in SCL 63: Rage in Rapid, on Oct. 28 by first-round submission.

In the other corner, Johnson has posted a 4-1 record in his last five MMA fights, winning last time out against Jared Foust by second-round knockout due to punches in AFC 135 on Nov. 15, 2017.

(Ordinarily, at this point of the article, I’d give you information on the reach advantage heading into the main event on Wednesday night, but neither Tapology nor Sherdog has that information for this contest.)

Prediction: Johnson by first-round KO.

Here are the other fights making up this Wednesday’s card:

Kris Berberich (1-3) vs. Zach Zane (10-7) [Welterweight, co-main event]

Tevin Dyce (2-1) vs. Justin Cook (3-5) [Flyweight]

Casey Johnson (7-5) vs. Noah Abdill (first professional appearance) [Bantamweight]

Douglas McFresh (2-2) vs. Onosai Moana (3-5-1) [Heavyweight]

Kelvin Bowen (first professional appearance) vs. Tyson Duckworth (3-5) [Lightweight]
