The New York Yankees have been slow out of the gates to start the season, but baseball is a long season. 162 games allow for some ups and downs. The Yanks were 6-9 heading into a 2-game set with Boston.

James Paxton’s gem and Brett Gardner’s heroics propelled the Yankees to a 2-game sweep against their division rival.

To say it was much-needed is an understatement. This series gave Yankee fans something to cheer about and hopefully more to look forward to.

Paxton delivered in game 1 with a 12K shutout over 8 innings. Gardner put the Yanks up 5-3 after a grand slam with 1 out in the 7th to steal game 2, his 100th career home run!

This weekend brings the Kansas City Royals to the Bronx, and as a result, the Yankees must sweep them. The Bombers have the pitching edge in every matchup, and this should be the perfect series for the Yankee bats to come alive.

Last season the Yankees were 9-9 to start off before they ripped off 17 of 18 to really get their season going.

Royals are the perfect team for the Yankees to capitalize on this weekend.

Growing up in New Jersey, the tri state offers up some amazing franchises to support. I’ve stuck with some but branched off to others. I’ve stayed loyal to the New Jersey-now Brooklyn Nets, who are turning out pretty good. While the Yankees are the best baseball franchise in history. Seeing a St. Louis Rams fan in New Jersey was almost unheard of before moving to Los Angeles. Mainly due to the fact of how horrible they were. Years of misery are finally starting to pay off as they’ve turned into a force in the NFL as the Los Angeles Rams. These are teams I love and support every day, so why not turn my passion into something more?
