Mixed martial arts fans get a double shot of the sport this week.

After Contender Series’ third season debuts this Tuesday on ESPN+, Wednesday night brings more fights courtesy of the Alaska Fighting Championship.

AFC 149 marks the first time that the promotion has held a card in the summer months.

In total, the event (which is streamed Wednesday [early Thursday] at midnight EDT, 9 p.m. PDT on UFC Fight Pass) features eight MMA fights.

Highlighting the event is a three-round non-title fight in the promotion’s Featherweight ranks, where Jared Mazurek (7-1) battles Kris Berberich (2-5).

Note: Reach advantage information as per Tapology was unavailable at the time of this writing.

Contender Comparison:

Heading into this Wednesday’s main event, Kris Berberich is the taller contestant, standing 5-foot-8, one inch taller than Jared Mazurek’s 5-foot-7 frame.

Jared Mazurek has posted a 4-1 record in his last five MMA appearances. Most recently, he scored a first-round submission win (rear-naked choke) against Aaron Ulroan in AFC 139 last year on UFC Fight Pass.

In the other corner, Kris Berberich has posted a 2-3 record in his last five MMA fights, with both wins in that stretch coming in the AFC promotion.

Most recently. Berberich lost on May 30 in Final Fight Championship 37 (first-round knockout- punches) to Jake Albinio.

Prediction: Jared Mazurek by first-round knockout.
