Another decent week in the Atlantic Coastal Conference. Check out who ranks where in the rankings for week eight.

  1. Miami (6-0, 4-0)

The Canes stay in the No. 1 slot after a hard-fought win over Syracuse. Miami plays an ailing North Carolina team next Saturday, where they will most likely move to 7-0 on the season, and still in command of the ACC Coastal lead.

  1. Clemson (6-1, 1-1)

The Tigers were on a much-needed bye week, but now this week face a very good Georgia Tech team at home. Kelly Bryant won’t be 100 percent for this matchup, and a loss will knock the Tigers out of playoff contention.

  1. NC State (6-1, 4-0)

Another top team on a bye week, NC State takes on Notre Dame this week in a big matchup with major importance for the Wolfpack. A win will officially launch NC State into the playoff discussion, while a loss will most likely kick them out.

  1. Virginia Tech (6-1, 2-1)

VT dismantled North Carolina 56-7 last week, behind a big performance by Josh Jackson. The Hokies play Duke this week and should move to 7-1 in what has become a banner year for Justin Fuente.

  1. Georgia Tech (4-2, 3-1)

Taquon Marshall had a great game against Wake Forest, and the Yellow Jackets moved to 4-2 on the season. GT could be due for an upset against Clemson, and the Tigers should be wary.

  1. Louisville (5-3, 2-3)

Louisville got a massive win against Florida State on Saturday, keeping them in the Atlantic division race, and salvaging what was looking like a lost season. Lamar Jackson was once again excellent, but will now face a stingy Wake Forest defense this next week.

  1. Wake Forest (4-3, 1-3)

Wake has played close with good teams this season but hasn’t been able to get the job done. The Deacs played Georgia Tech very close, but couldn’t pull out a win on the road. They might be favored at home against Louisville this week, and Greg Dortch will be looking for revenge.

  1. Syracuse (4-4, 2-2)

Syracuse almost beat Miami, but just could not pull out a win on the road in what seemed like a hurricane. Eric Dungy pulled a Seth Rollins on a Miami defender with his knee to the head, but it still wasn’t enough. ‘Cuse has a much-needed break before playing an ailing Florida State in two weeks.

  1. Florida State (2-4, 2-3)

I don’t want to talk about Saturday, my heart can only break so many times. Florida State will be in a dogfight against Boston College, and for what feels like the fourth time this season, THEY NEED THIS WIN.

  1. Boston College (4-4, 2-3)

Where has this offense come from? BC blew out Virginia on Saturday and now is on a very winnable path to bowl eligibility, which didn’t look possible a few weeks ago. Boston College has a fairly good chance to beat Florida State this weekend for the first time since 2009.

  1. Virginia (5-2, 2-1)

It was nice while it lasted for Virginia, who got hammered by Boston College last week. Virginia still only needs one win to become bowl eligible, and a win against Pitt this weekend will do just that.

  1. Pittsburgh (3-5, 1-3)

Huge win for the Panthers, who needed the win against Duke in order to stay in the bowl eligibility hunt. A win against UVA this Saturday would be huge for Pitt.

  1. Duke (4-4, 1-4)

Duke still has a path to become bowl eligible, but that has become much tougher after dropping the game to Pitt. They go on the road to Virginia Tech this week, and a loss will make them fall to 4-5.

  1. North Carolina (1-7, 0-5)

Basketball season is in 19 days.

I always wanted to be an NFL player, but 5’11 lineman normally don’t get drafted, unless their name is Aaron Donald. Most likely I’ve already peaked in high school. I love all kinds of sports, but I write about FSU for Armchair, where I also attend school. Yes, Florida State is better than your favorite school in whatever sport you name (that includes water polo). Don’t ever play me in Madden or 2k, otherwise, I’ll put you to shame. I’m at tscheetos on Xbox, come at me. Follow me on twitter at @samtschida67 for hot football takes and other dumb tweets.
