Rafiti Ghirmai is ranked 22nd in the nation among offensive tackles, and the Texas Longhorns are the favorite to land him. Ghirmai hails from Wakeland High School in Frisco, Texas. The recruit announced his final six schools in a Twitter video on Wednesday.
Standing at 6’4″, 290 pounds, Ghirmai would fill in a relatively weak offensive line at Texas, aside from Connor Williams. Texas will compete with Alabama, Florida, LSU, UCLA, and Miami in the coming months to land the recruit. Ghirmai would bolster an already strong 2018 recruiting class for Tom Herman and the Texas Longhorns.
