Four-star defensive back Isaiah Simmons has just announced his commitment to play football for the Clemson Tigers. The 6-foot-4, 211 pound safety from Olathe, Kansas will add great size and speed to Clemson’s secondary.
Simmons will help the Tigers’ pass defense as the team looks to replace Mackensie Alaxander who will be entering the 2016 NFL Draft. He will also help a unit that gave up a great amount of big plays in the 2016 College Football Playoff Championship Game to Alabama.
ESPN ranks Simmons as the second ranked player out of Kansas and the 23rd ranked safety in the country. Simmons will be Clemson’s 16th commitment as the Tigers get ready for National Signing Day tomorrow.
Simmons was considering Michigan and Nebraska before committing to Clemson.
