For a high school recruit like Giles Jackson, a three star all-purpose back from Oakley, California, a scholarship offer from Michigan is a big deal. Jackson has been invited to the Opening Finals All-Star camp in Frisco, Texas, and just 11 days later received his official offer from the Wolverines.
Jackson is a recruit on the rise. His exceptional running vision and ability to catch the ball have set him up to certainly earn more stars next to his name.
Jackson was able to speak on his what he expects on his June 22 official visit to Michigan.
“For my official I’m looking to experience if I can picture myself there and do I feel comfortable being there, and also how the coaches are,” said Jackson. “I want to walk away knowing that if I would commit here, would I enjoy it? Football ends eventually and I don’t want to go anywhere just to play football and not like my surroundings.”
Jackson seems keen on finding a school that not only fulfills his needs from an academic standpoint, but also somewhere where he can develop and get on the field within his first two years at school. Jackson believes that Michigan fits those requirements.
“Michigan stands out to me because of the great coaches they have in place, their fan base is crazy and I love it.”
“I’m seeing if my family and I feel comfortable there and me actually playing. I love to compete but I don’t want to go to a school and sit for two years before I can play.”
