We have an urgent Armchair All-Americans advisory to pass along to you. Here I am with the information:

Your Tuesday nights are about to get exciting and aggressive. This concludes the Armchair All-Americans advisory.

We return now to our regularly-scheduled article, already in progress.

Thank you very much, Drew.

Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series returns for its third season and its first on ESPN+, the cable network’s subscription-based streaming platform this Tuesday evening.

The four-fight card will be broadcast at 8 p.m. EDT/5 PDT on ESPN+, with UFC Fight Pass streaming the episode and all episodes this season to our international audience.

Headlining the season premiere is a Middleweight main event between 5-0 Punahele Soriano and 9-3 Jamie Pickett.

[NOTE: All Contender Series main events are a maximum of three rounds at five minutes each.]

Contender Comparison:

Heading into the main event this week, Pickett stands 6-foot-1, an inch taller than Soriano’s frame at 6-foot.

Soriano has posted a perfect 5-0 record during his professional career. Dating back to his amateur career, he has gone 7-0.

Most recently, he scored a first-round submission (rear-naked choke) against Jhonoven Pati last October during LFA 52 on AXS TV.

In the other corner, Pickett, a veteran of the last season of Contender Series, has posted a 4-1 record in his last five fights, winning last time out against Elijah Gbollie Jr. (first-round TKO – unanswered strikes) in Next Level Fight Club 10 back in February.

The Tale of the Tape:

According to Tapology, Pickett holds a 5.5-inch reach advantage (80 inches to 74.5 inches) over Soriano.

Prediction: Soriano by first-round knockout.

Other fights on the season premiere:

Kali Robbins (6-2) vs. Hannah Goldy (4-0) [Strawweight, co-main event]

Bill Algeo (12-3) vs. Brendan Loughnane (16-3) [Featherweight]

Yorgan de Castro (4-0) vs. Alton Meeks (3-0) [Heavyweight]

The scheduled Brok Weaver (13-4) vs. Leon Shabazyan (7-1) co-main event in the welterweight ranks was postponed after Shabazyan was not cleared to compete.
