One word regarding last Thursday night’s PFL 6 card before we progress to Contender Series week 8:  PFL 6 was headlined by Satoshi Ishii vs. Jared Rosholt in the Heavyweight ranks.

Last week on Dana White’s Contender Series, UFC president Dana White awarded three deals to the MMA promotion, as Andre Muniz, Herbert Burns, and Omar Morales each punched their tickets to the UFC.

So far, a total of 22 MMA fighters have been awarded contracts in the UFC as a direct result of appearing on the program.

Three weeks remain, including this Tuesday’s program at 8 p.m. EDT on ESPN+ in the United States and UFC Fight Pass internationally.

This week’s installment includes a rebooking from the premiere episode of season three in June.

Brok Weaver, who was scheduled to fight in the June 18 episode vs. Leon Shabazyan (but was pulled from the card after Shabazyan fell ill and wasn’t cleared), fights this week against Devin Smyth in the co-main event.

Highlighting this episode is a Light Heavyweight fight between undefeated prospects Herdem Alacabek (5-0) and William Knight (4-0).

Contender Comparison:

Herdem Alacabek stands at 6-foot-2, with no such information available on William Knight.

Alacabek has posted a perfect 5-0 record, most recently scoring a first-round submission (rear-naked choke) on July 20, 2018 against Dejon Daniels in LFA 45 during the undercard.

In the other corner, Knight has posted a perfect 5-0 mark dating back to his amateur career.

Last time out, he defeated Kevin Haley by second-round KO in CES MMA 53 on Jan. 19 in the first CES MMA event to stream on UFC Fight Pass.

The Tale of the Tape:

Heading into this week’s main event, Tapology shows that Herdem Alacabek has a 75-inch reach, with no such information available for William Knight.

Prediction: Herdem Alacabek by first-round KO.

Four other fights make up this week’s card:

Brok Weaver (13-4) vs. Devin Smyth (9-1) [Welterweight, co-main event]

Shanna Young (6-1) vs. Sarah Alpar (8-4) [Women’s Bantamweight]

Tony Gravely (18-5) vs. Ray Rodriguez (15-5) [Bantamweight]

Karl Reed (6-1) vs. Julius Anglickas (6-1) [Light Heavyweight]

Contender Series week 8 at a glance:

Card: Tuesday, 8 p.m. EDT, 5 p.m. PDT, ESPN+ (USA), UFC Fight Pass (internationally)
